Il Borro Wines of Tuscany
Il Borro Lamelle IGT Toscana 2020
Lamelle is produced by cold pressing hand-harvested Chardonnay grapes. Fruity and floral notes include white peach, apple and pear with nuance of lemon and hawthorn, producing a fresh spice finish with a fruity, crisp and long aftertaste.
Il Borro Pian DiNova IGT Toscana 2018
The entry-level wine form Il Borro, this Tuscan wine is produced using 25% Sangiovese grapes and 75% Syrah grapes to produce a ruby red white with mild garnet highlights. A complex nose emits red berry fruits melding with herbs, fresh spices, white tobacco and forest aromas. With hints of rosemary and juniper on the finish, it is jucy, full-bodied and crisp in the mouth with an elegant long-lasting finish.
Il Borro Polissena Valdarno Di Sopra DOC 2017
Made of 100% Sangiovese grapes, Polissena has an intense bouquet with notes of underbrush and hints of red fruit. Dry with a good body and pleasant hint of tannins it has a strong backbone while refined and balanced.
Il Borro IGT Toscana 2017
50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah, this Tuscan blend has a full and intense bouquet with notes of underbrush and with spicy scents. The taste is dry with good body and soft tannins, a good consistency, well integrated and persistent.
Wines from the Italian Islands
Jankara Vermentino di Gallura Superiore DOCG 2020
100 percent Vermentino from Sardinia, this white wine offers a great balance between acidity, alcohol, and fruit with extremely rich, intense aromas of white flowers and almonds, along with complex tropical nuances that pleasingly linger on the palate.
Pietradolce Etna Rosato DOC 2020
100% Nerello Mascalese from a single vineyard near the town of Castiglione di Sicilia in Sicily Pietradolce Etna Rosato shows distinctive minerality and complexity combined with an intense, ample bouquet of rich aromas. These characteristics make this a very supple and versatile wine.
Jankara Colli del Limbara “Lu Nieddu” IGT 2018
A field blend of Cannonau, Caricaggiola, Pascale di Cagliari, Dolcetto, Barbera, and Cabernet Franc this Sardinian red has a deep and impenetrable color with a wonderful array of dark fruits and a touch of vanilla on the nose. The palate is rich, dense and intense with a great balance between tannins, alcohol and acidity, which translate into a very persistent finish.
Pietradolce “Archineri” Etna Rosso DOC
Pietradolce “Archineri” Etna Rosso DOC is ripe and fruity on the nose, with distinct spicy and balsamic nuances. On the palate, excellent volume, depth and structure, great mouthfeel and simultaneously finesse; clean, consistent and persistent finish. This estate grown single vineyard Sicilian red is made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes.
Gaja Family Wines
2020 Ca’Marcanda Vistamare
A medium bodied delicate and elegant blend of 40% Vermentino, 40% Viognier and 20% Fiano from Tuscany, Vistamare is a crisp white with notes of pear, nectarine, mango and white currant with mineral and spicy accents of flint, rosemary and saffron.
2017 Ca’Marcanda Promis
55% Merlot, 35% Syrah and 10% Sangiovese, this red blend from Tuscany’s Gaja family has vanilla baking spice aromas. It is round and smooth with medium tannins and a juicy mouthfeel.
2017 Ca’Marcanda Magari
60% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, this Tuscan blend is 100% Gaja family estate grown wine is a deep red with dark berry fruit and earthy leathery spice notes. On the palate blackberry and black cherry flavors, smooth with integrated herb spice, mint and tobacco, lively acidity. Fine tannins, great balance, long finish ending with mineral spice.
2017 Gaja Sito Moresco
The Gaja family’s Sito Moresco is 50% Nebbiolo, 40% Barbera and 10% Merlot from Piedmont. Beautifully balanced, elegant with finely tuned, silky medium tannins and a fresh medium-plus acidity. Slightly spicy with some earthy hints of cherry, strawberry, rose and just a pinch of vanilla.
