JOIN US FOR THE GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION OF THE 2022 BUILDING SAVVY IDEA HOME
3808 Beechwood Lane, Dallas TX 75220
Friday, December 2, 4-7 pm, for a Grand Opening Celebration
The project survived all the unique challenges of this era in homebuilding, from the City of Dallas’ permitting process, to the material and labor shortages, but the expertise and advice of all the various partners involved in the project kept the project moving. MLAW Engineers and its sister company, MLA Labs (premier leader in Central Texas soils expertise) oversaw the site preparation. The home was enrolled with StrucSure Home Warranty and the project was insured by Hotchkiss Insurance.
The timing in ordering the lumber package from Lee Roy Jordan Lumber was important. The design team chose Acme Brick‘s Silver Ridge brick for the home exterior, ordered windows and doors from RAM Windows & Doors and French double doors from Sierra Pacific, and specified French scalloped architectural dimensional premium shingles for the roof, long before Ramer Concrete, Inc. began pouring the foundation.
Anticipating that many materials were almost a year out on delivery time, the GE Monogram appliances were ordered from Texas Appliance, Woodmode Kitchen cabinets from Kitchen Source were specified, and DeVance Electronic Lifestyle worked with the team to design pre-wiring and Wifi that will allow the home’s owner to connect devices and fully automate their home according to their needs and wishes.
Approximately 18 months later, the completed home truly is a gem in its setting. Its Acme Brick exterior is accented by Black Bird Shutters‘ archtop Country French Spanish cedar shutters with Old World black wrought iron hinges, cast stone by Masonry Supply, Inc. (MSI) and standing seam metal accent roofing. The front porch is one of numerous tiled porches with hardwood ceilings. The cedar Wayne Dalton garage door is operated by a Genie Professional Line door opener with Integrated Aladdin Connect Intelligent Control. Hardscaping and landscaping by the esteemed Gail McCrory, Horticulturalist, adds essential finishing touches around the site’s carefully preserved native trees.
For the home’s energy package, walls and attic were fully foam-insulated. Southern Air Mechanical supplied its Lennox Ultimate Comfort System to create an unprecedented whole-home comfort system that seamlessly and intelligently works together to stay finely tuned while delivering consistently clean air.
