The Journey of Hope LEAP Global Missions Gala 2024

Founded over 30 years ago, LEAP Global Missions volunteers have performed over 10,000 surgeries on patients (mostly children) from 24 countries.

LEAP is committed to developing long-term relationships with its patients, their communities, and other partners involved in its missions. By returning to the same countries, LEAP builds trust, offers ongoing education, and continues caring for those who need long-term medical services.
Ballet North Texas’s 7th Anniversary Fall Gala

Guests will don their Western attire to enjoy a night of performances, cuisine, and auctions

Participants support the mission to nurture aspiring dancers and bring the joy of ballet to all corners of our community. The event is October 5, 2024 at Sammons Center for the Arts.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra League’s Fashion Notes “Bird Song” Luncheon

Mother and childrens’ fall fashions are modeled by League members and their families. This includes past and present DSOL Debutantes, and members of the DSO Family.
The 2025 Fashion Notes event begins with a fashion show produced by Claire Catrino Productions. It is followed by a raffle and luncheon. The annual Fashion Notes fundraiser will be held October 10 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, benefiting:
Young Strings, Kim Noltemy Young Musicians, and the Cecil and Ida Green Youth Concert Series. The program impacts over 20,000 students, promoting brain development and opening doors to a brighter future and more opportunities.
DSO On the Go brings the orchestra outside the Meyerson Symphony Center and into neighborhoods and communities around North Texas.
MyDSO Concerts specially designed for children and adults on the autism spectrum and with developmental disabilities, and their families, friends and caregivers.

“Celebrating Turtle Creek”

The Gala is a prelude to the Turtle Creek Associations 23rd Annual Tour of Homes “Celebrating our Natural Oasis.”
The Turtle Creek Association Annual Gala promises an extraordinary evening filled with elegance, excitement, and entertainment. Guests will enjoy a champagne reception, a delectable three-course seated dinner, live and silent auctions, and an unforgettable finale of dancing to the captivating tunes of the renowned Emerald City’s Limelight Band. The event will be held on October 18, 2024 at Virgin Hotels Dallas.
Five homes located in the Turtle Creek corridor will be featured in the Home Tour event on Sunday, October 20. The ticket price includes shuttle service to and from each home, with convenient free parking provided at 3131 Turtle Creek Blvd. See the homes on the tour here.

The Preservation Park Cities Distinguished Speaker Luncheon chairs Lindsey Doramus and Cate Ford, along with PPC president Alisa Sell, are delighted to announce the luncheon’s honorary chairs, Jenny and Richard Mullen. The theme is “Living With Art” and features a panel of speakers: Thomas Feulmer, Curator, The Warehouse Dallas; Robyn Siegel, Advisor, CCS Fine Art; Ashley Avera Cathey, Founder and Principal, Avera and Company. The panel will be moderated by Joyce Goss, Phillips Regional Director, Texas.

Distinguished military veteran, Jeff Gault joins Beverly Smirnis on the People Pursuing Passions podcast. He discusses the unseen sacrifices of military families, and how his own family’s sacrifices inspired his passion for creating the Army Scholarship Foundation. The Foundation provides college scholarships to the children and spouses of those who have served, or are currently serving, our nation as soldiers in the United States Army.
Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum Gears up for 2024 A Writer’s Garden

The speakers for the 18th Annual A Writer’s Garden Symposium and Luncheon themed “Star Style Glamour for the Home & Garden” were revealed at a summer soirée event last June.
The 2024 A Writer’s Garden will feature Martyn Lawrence Bullard, a multi-award-winning British interior designer, author and television personality based in Los Angeles,and Stefani Bittner, owner of Homestead Design Collective, a San Francisco Bay area landscape design firm. The event on November 13th benefits the Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden and specifically, The Women’s Garden at the Arboretum.

Event chair Joni Kreig also announced that through his Weber Foundation, Garry Weber donated $100,000, the largest single donation ever to A Writer’s Garden. A new mosaic fountain in the recently completed restored and restyled Poetry Garden will be named in honor of Garry Weber and the Weber Foundation in recognition of his most generous donation.
